It’s been almost a decade since I wrote a blog post on the State of Mobile XMPP in 2016. Time to start working on an update.
The situation has only improved since then, and #XMPP has matured into a solid, feature-rich protocol for federated instant messaging

Do you know the word "please"?
Do you have to SHOUT orders to strangers when you conduct an experiment?

@_elena I intend to delete my account when the age verification goes live as a way of sending a message to them. I always found Discord too complex. For example, I’d get a push notification when someone made a post, so I’d tap on the notification thinking it would take me to the post but instead it just took me to the server and forced me to hunt for the post. I’ve turned off all notifications. I can’t remember when I last checked any servers I’m a member of.

I like that you're thinking about these matters and I appreciate your presence here. Nice insights, and good advertising (though I'm still more likely to end up in the Staatstheater Wiesbaden, even though it's a longer distance. Old habits etc etc)
