Being able to say I've been doing this longer than you've alive is something I have been able to cite very early in my career but it is not something I employ. It is very deeply and darkly funny I endeavor not to indulge in because condescension is really not useful.

I should post the story about how I took over and redesigned my middle school's website and they had me do it in the administrative office on a MacBook and I met the district IT supervisor one day and were were cool with it.

You could just do shit in the 2000s.

I also used the Photoshop healing tool to remove all the gum stains from the pictures. That's how you know I'm not making this shit up.

@SwiftOnSecurity I got my first real job at 19 at least partly because I solved a database problem for the manager who was interviewing me. It was a database that I'd never seen or heard of before, but I said, "Sure, I can take a look".

This was at a TV station, and I was interviewing for a job in the tape/editing room, not a computer job. Everybody else they hired for the position had a bachelor's degree in broadcasting or similar.

You could really just do shit in the 90s.
