If you comment "marry me" on one of my videos or a post online, I will block you.

Do I laugh, cry, or puke? I didn't invite this.
@vkc incredibly gross, sorry this human detritus floats your way :(

Most men either think this kind of behavior is acceptable, or think it's inevitable. Neither is true.
Dudes: stand up and stop it when you see it.

@vkc "in a non arm candy way". JFC.
Comments like that speak volumes about what the inside of this guy's soul looks like.

@vkc ugh. Men.

@vkc Gross. Adults should know to not behave like this.
-
@vkc it started well, but escalated to awful very quickly
@gblues There's absolutely nothing good about any of this, dude.

@csilverman @vkc what does that even mean? And do I want to know?

Hey, since you said that you'd like to be more supportive:
If you have an audience, you can write about it to them. Make a post, share it with other people on other platforms, etc...
You don't have to share the link to or mention vkc, they probably have enough exposition already.If you haven't tried this already, you can also try to pay attention on purpose for a few days in public spaces or workspaces, if you look for it, you'll see people staring and commenting poorly at women. Don't react straight away (unless you know how to) but it might help see the problems and know when and how they do it.

There's a phrase in spanish that can be useful in such situations: "Te rajo la cara, mierdas."
If it sounds too rude, maybe you can add an emoji
or something. -

@vkc And people wonder why there's so much less good YouTube creators that are women (especially trans folks) than YouTube creators that are men. It's because of nonsense like this. It's sad, really.

@vkc that's just weird. And hard agree on the creepy factor.
-
@vkc People can be quite weird and creepy. It might work better for you if you just blocked them and didn't mention it. Otherwise, you are encouraging other weird/creepy people.
@gbsills@social.vivaldi.net It's her fault that she get harassed? Are you hearing yourself here?

Pull up xeyes and do the biggest eye roll ever!
Incorporates Linux into the response…😏👍🙏 -

@mcbaumwolle Patsy's always right, lol
-
@vkc I honestly don't see how we can.
@gbsills @vkc When someone leaves one of those comments, you can help by replying with "dude you're fucking weird".
Recognize & call out bad behavior when you see it. Not saying anything makes it worse because it teaches those people that they can get away with it. Don't excuse it with "boys will be boys", don't ignore it, don't encourage it.

@vkc Not asking you to do the work of figuring out the "how" for us, but for other dudes reading this, what sort of intervention do you think works here?
I think just calling it creepy or insulting is accurate, but also insufficient for the men who aren't at a level of being able to intuit that already. I am lacking succinct phrases or analogies to explain *why* it is such, or maybe how it feels to be on the receiving side of such unwanted attention

@aeischeid @vkc was thinking the same thing
How?
If I say soemthing then I come off as white knight-ing. She doesn't need me to fight her battles, she's got it. But if I do nothing then I am standing by and allowing toxic behavior. Maybe I start here by saying reply guys suck.
