    @jan awww that's terrible. I'm thinking of the devastating effects on the environment because of the energy required to create that crap... and then I think of my child and the planet we're leaving her... it's just so pointless and enraging and... I have no words 😭

    I've become a total Karen but I don't care. If someone in my family fires up ChatGPT during a discussion, I always go: "do you know how many bottles of water your request required? Think of the environment!"

    @_elena yeah, I do see a raise of AI slop everywhere except Fediverse. I mean, why? Why waste so much resources for something that doesn't have any value. I went to my barbershop to make my haircut and on TV they had YT endless music stream, but instead of music clips they were looping AI generated stuff. I'm asking why? Just why 🤦‍♂️

    This morning, I checked out Pinterest for the first time in forever and saw an image purporting to be a LEGO set that was obviously AI generated - yuck!

    Then on Reddit's popular page there was a video compilation of people saving children from terrible falls = AI slop.

    YouTube's homepage: a short video showing a child and her dog covered in mud = AI slop.

    What was I thinking? I should visit and instead...

    Alternative a Google Drive (self hosting)Pensavo di avercela fatta installando Nextcloud ma oggi ho aggiornato alla versione 32 e mi sono trovato tra i piedi un errore legato ad AppAI che non riesco a risolvere senza accesso alla shell (ho un hosting condiviso e ho solo cPanel come strumento di amministrazione). Ho disabilitato quell'app tanto non m iserve e amen.Fino alla versione 31 di Nextcloud c'era l'app "OCC web" che permetteva di fare qualcosina ma è "deprecated" e non ne esiste una versione per Nextcloud 32Considerato che tutto quello che mi serve è un repository per i file che vorrei avere sempre con me, dal telefono o da qualunque PC sul pianeta, tipo i codici fiscali miei e di mio figlio, la polizza dell'assicurazione auto, le ultime analisi del sangue, ecc. avete qualche app alternativa a Nextcloud e che possa essere installata e usata senza SSH, così come si usa Wordpress, Mediawiki, ecc.?In subordine, avete qualche suggerimento per servizi del genere in linea con le policy di chi vuole ridurre la sua dipendenza dalle Big Tech?Mi serve 1 GB di spazio alla fine, non chissà quanto.
