Firstly please excuse the mess, I’m in the middle of a diy project in the greenhouse.

@helenclayton you have been adopted by her. How long until you’re giving her special treats?
@IcooIey well I think it was giving her mealworms the other day that has resulted in her adopting us 😂
-
@helenclayton Scouting out a nice place to raise the kids?
@penpencilbrush I did worry for a moment there. Have only just come inside and made sure to double check the greenhouse before closing the door.

@helenclayton tsk tsk, if you feed them they will never leave! Of course, she’s very sweet and you don’t want her to leave so well done.

@helenclayton
She needs a name! ❤️@cynblogger well she was going to be Hen Pen but Mrs Pheasant seems to have stuck now.
-
@helenclayton Bird knew that it would be an inconvenience for you and did it anyway.
@budgegeria it reminded me of what it was like to try and do diy with a cat around.
-
@helenclayton That's pretty adorable :)
I was slightly disturbed at first though... in the static image, if you imagine her right eye is actually a left eye and there's a mouth at the front edge of her right wing, it looks like some weird deep sea fish - and that's what I initially saw! Yikes.
@miketorr a psychologist might have a field day with that 😂
-
@helenclayton Get some meal worms at the pet shop. I bet she’d love them.
@jeannotpepino it was giving her live mealworms what started this 😂 (we get them for the robins).
-

@IcooIey if it keeps her safe from the guns…
I might not be so pleased when she eats my seedlings mind.

Firstly please excuse the mess, I’m in the middle of a diy project in the greenhouse. But our new ‘pet’ pheasant has decided that in amongst the debris is a good place for a dust bath.
So as not to disturb her, my husband had to pass me my drill through the window.
She is so beautiful and so comfortable in your company ❤️❤️❤️

@helenclayton Quite possibly. I realise I'm not exactly normal, don't worry :)

Is that a ring neck pheasant hen?
Been a long time since I've seen a good dust bath.
Thank-you!

@KevinHennessy it is. There are a few living in and around the gardens. Escapees from a nearby estate I guess, or at least descendants of. This hen seems to be living in the garden and has quickly become rather tame.
