Something incredible has happened.

Something incredible has happened. I've stumbled on a band that is _exactly_ the sort of thing I like, and I had no familiarity with their music, though I'm sure I've heard the name. Moving Targets were in exactly the same orbit as three of my favorite bands of all time (Husker Du, Mission of Burma, and Lemonheads), sharing producer, label, scene, etc. with one or more of them.
I cannot believe I haven't been listening to them for 30+ years like the rest.

This is like discovering Husker Du made a bunch of albums I've never heard.

i'm not gonna start it right now because i shoudl go to bed (and i find music posting here fizzles and dies quickly) but maybe we should start a thread where people post the thing for them that is like this for you, the how-is-it-possible-i-never-knew-about-this-it's-right-up-my-alley sort of thing

@inquiline if the internet is good for anything, it is for stuff like this.
On another occasion I stumbled on a video of the best live show I've ever been to (Flaming Lips at the Abyss in Houston in 1996...the video doesn't do it justice, but it's nice to revisit the memory).
But, yeah, that would be an interesting thread. It's so rare to find something that was seemingly constructed in a lab to appeal to exactly me, that's been waiting decades for me to stumble on it.

Apparently my concert buddy from back in the day tried to hip me to Moving Targets decades ago, but I guess I wasn't ready.

He was (rightly) indignant at the suggestion he might not have heard of them. The man has a righteous record collection, and is also very fond of bands shaped like this.

Apparently they reformed as few years ago, and have been putting out records ever since, and they're good? https://deadbrokerekerds.bandcamp.com/album/red-eyes
