The damage in the office following #Crapturday has been estimated at about €11,500 + VAT. The floors became soaked and continue to release both odor and crystals. The insurance companies are finding every possible excuse not to pay. The assessor from the first company wants to "come back to take another look" (even though he was the one who initially suggested I get a proper quote because the damage was clearly not trivial), and the assessor from the second company will be there tomorrow morning. So I'll have to go there and waste half a day: I can't work from there, I can't park near and I need to be there. And, of course, it will be raining (even if it's not been raining for more than one month).
All I know is that my office has been unusable for two months, and my patience, although extremely large given that I already have other things on my mind during this period, is starting to run out.

@stefano 🤯 that's terrible! I'm sorry you have to deal with all that.

@stefano Any hope to get compensation for the months you cannot use your office?

@apgarcia thanks. Let's wait and see what will happen.

@emilianosandri probably not. One of the reasons why it's taking so long is that the damage wasn't immediately visible, so we (all) had to wait - hoping it could be minimal. But as weeks pass, the situation is getting worse. Now that it's clear that it's a huge problem, they don't want to pay.
Two lawyers I know (I don't like them that much, but this time I agree with them) say that insurance companies are among the worst entities you can deal with. -

@stefano that is terrible Stefano. Good luck for a satisfying resolution.
