I just nearly had a heart attack.
A pigeon slammed into the closed window of my study, barely half a meter from me.
It's not even the first time it's happened.
It's got to be an idiot, considering the glass is so dirty there’s no way it couldn't see it...Dear 2026, can we please stop making me jump every single day?

Where I worked in the late 1990s, we had a glassed in walkway between two parts of the facility, and birds would hit it all the time. Our facilities person found out what to do. A photocopied image of a hawk placed every 10 feet solved the problem. It didn't even have to be anywhere near photorealistic; it was just a fairly crude outline. Possibly the high contrast of line art may have made it work better than a real image. -

Monday morning.
Misty, with rain in the forecast. Woke up early, couldn't get back to sleep (that happens when I'm not entirely at peace).
They're digging up the street again (if they break the water pipe one more time, I’m going to dump my toilet on their heads, medieval style).
I’m expecting a pretty unpleasant call from someone I’ll have to blow off.
Meanwhile, I’m waiting for mid-morning to make a call that will hopefully be more positive.All in all, I just hope this turns out to be at least a decent day.
