Political violence is what happened to Haiti. What is happening to Hawaiians. In the Global South.
Political violence is what you are living under right fucking now. There is no war but class war.
They tell you political violence is always horrific but will never admit it can be liberating. They are terrified of a thousand new Luigis, of a dozen modern Vietnams.

@OKdad I already got my daughter to be completely turned off by Barbie dolls at age 3, totally rejecting them (after I explained to her that they have impossible dimensions that do not exist IRL and if a real woman looked like a Barbie she wouldn't be able to engage in a lot of fun sports, because she'd be too frail). @Lognormal_guy I think as long as the personal and monetary incentives persist, that content will unfortunately continue to thrive. SO! **IMO** on the micro-level: talk to kids about this stuff and be honest about your feelings and concerns. And on the macro-level: challenge the incentives—the algorithms and the platformers. which is what I think @_elena is attempting to do!
