PS: I tried to translate the song into a version that rhymes, but it doesn't rhyme in Spanish...

Also, I purposely did not exactly and accurately translate all the verses, because I wanted to test if automated translation engines get them exactly right.

tl;dr : no translation translates everything as it should.

tiny example: reza que reza, which I translated as prayin and prayin, that que in the middle does not mean "what" and most translators will say it does.

@afreytes Translating poetry and music is more art than science. Trying to get the meaning and the rhyme scheme and the meter to all work while still sounding natural is incredibly difficult.

@Steve @afreytes In Colombia, theres a very famous poet, Rafael Pombo. He mostly did literary work for children. Most curious are his translations of "Simple Simon" known as "Simon el bobito".

The translations are so intricate and elaborated that basically are new poems themselves. Which did cause the discussion with translators over time if was this the correct way to do it, since Simple Simon's poems are, well, simple.

Its an interesting conundrum when trying to translate anything.
