How can I attach these wires onto a new battery
@justdaveisfine Do NOT listen to me, I have no idea what I am saying... But I feel that you don't attach wires to that kind of battery but the enclosure that holds the battery should hold the wires/contacts against the battery as well.
But since I see no enclosure I wonder just how you are supposed to hold the whole thing together. Curious

@justdaveisfine @afreytes I believe these are spot welds, you can buy pen-like devices to make them. That said, I’ve never done it myself.
You may prefer to get a case for that battery form factor and solder the wire to its contacts instead. (If there’s enough space inside the device.) -

@afreytes @justdaveisfine The metal strips are spot welded to the battery, wires can be soldered to them. It's important to not heat the battery via e.g. soldering.
I'd buy a battery already having the metal strips spot welded if not that I'd also need to solder the rest of the device to it.

An inelegant solution but eh

@justdaveisfine You can spot weld a new battery in place, or if you want to get fancy you can find little plastic battery carriers which you can solder onto your existing two pin plug (something like this).
They're nice if they'll fit your application, because it makes it very easy to swap out batteries in the future or for long-term storage.

Seems like it works?

Looks spot welded originally, so could technically be spot welded back on - speak to ppl who refurbish laptop battery cell arrays, for example, they do this - but it may be less hassle to order a new assembly, depending what it's off, availability, etc. (& the spot welding isn't without its hazards)
Or, maybe soldering (again, caution), but only if both metals are solderable.
Otherwise, I'd be wishing for some superconductive epoxy mix ... anyone?
Good question, good luck.
