Why properly interoperable services, or else bridges, help:
A group of people are trying to organise FOSDEM communications.
A and B use both XMPP and Signal, but not Matrix.
C uses XMPP, Signal, and DeltaChat, but not Matrix.
D and E use both Signal and Matrix, but not XMPP.
F uses only XMPP.
Solution? Email.

Dalla fine dello scorso anno, il numero di procedimenti penali ai sensi degli articoli 407 (abbandono non autorizzato di un’unità militare o SZCh) e 408 (diserzione) del Codice penale ucraino è rimasto stabile a circa 17.000 al mese. Nei primi 8 mesi del 2025, sono stati registrati 142.711 procedimenti penali ai sensi di questi articoli e, dall’inizio dell’invasione al 1° settembre 2025, sono stati registrati in Ucraina 265.843 casi.

Yeah, kexec exists, and "guix system reconfigure ..." even generates a kexec script to reboot without going all the way into the bootloader... and sometimes even suceeds!
Maybe for some systems it is quite reliable; I have had mixed results, so not sure I would want to rely on kexec without a lot of testing...
Off the top of my head, petitboot implemented a "boot to minimal linux and kexec to full system" sort of interface... there may be other projects in this space as well.
