The industry wants to turn the browser into a concierge between you and the web, interpreting and filtering your reality. They call it delegation - I call it a loss of agency.
A browser should be a tool you wield, not something that makes decisions for you.
@arstechnica maybe worth mentioning us as an alternative ;)

@Waterfox @arstechnica the issue with waterfox is the same issue with any firefox based thing.
Your sandbox suck.
And the fact it's impossible to disable all connection to mozilla server make all fork worse than a basic ungoogled chromium -

In Google’s world they really don’t want people involved

Not found anything that isn't Firefox based with a good collection of add-ons, why I'm on LibreWolf and WaterFox, now.Mozilla follows their Googly overlords into killing extensions they, and all forks, will die.
I'm old enough I was browsing with Links, the industry pushes too much derp I'll time travel to text browsing in a terminal.
I'm already scraping social media feeds to read offline so I look like an AI and don't feed them all that yummy data.

@Waterfox @arstechnica Who needs to think or be intentional when you can have AI do it? what a sad future we have in front of us.

@Waterfox @arstechnica@Hakuso @Waterfox @arstechnica in my case in run a script to have chromite automatically downloaded on my VPS when there is update.
Their integrated adblocker is fed with ads rules i source i download on my VPS from EU hosted website, and from my VPS to the client.
Anf for extension i monitor them and update myself manually since it still possible on linux.

@Waterfox @arstechnica I've used waterfox for years. Runs the addons my usage patterns need, so it's been a lifesaver ever since Firefox went and ruined itself.
(Only exception is an RSS feed reader integrated into bookmarks like Firefox had. I still miss that. Would be magnificent if Waterfox resurrected that.)
