Bonfire isn’t easy to pin down, and that’s the point! We seek to enable a tapestry of social spaces, all built from shared building blocks but diverging in flavour, practice, and purpose. We gathered a whole collection of answers from across the fediverse:πŸ‘‰ https://bonfirenetworks.org/posts/what-is-bonfire-plural-by-design/Want to help shape what comes next? Evan Prodromou on OpenChannels.FMA quick note that Evan is interviewed by WordPress social networking lead Matthias Pfefferle on the OpenChannels.FM podcast about the history of the Fediverse and where we’re going next. How Decentralized Social Platforms Grew from Identica to Modern-Day Mastodon covers a 15+-year period as the Fediverse was born and developed. The shownotes alone are extremely detailed and a great resource.

@frenck ARRRGHHH this Python Engineer job is exactly what someone I know is looking for, fantastically qualified and passionate about data sovereignty, lots of experience building for personal data management products --- but not based in Europe. Who else is hiring similar positions please? #getfedihired

@fedivideo Honestly YouTube has spoiled us. Content can be streamed in 4k simply because they are as big as they are, and can "afford" the bandwidth + datacosts.720p is more than good enough for most content. That's the format I save my own gaming clips in, because what matters is the atmosphere of the moments I capture, not necessarily a 1:1 crisp image of the experience. With good encoding, anything is possible
