@StOnSoftware @Gina Exactly my thought. Good application of open source requires the integration of different OS stacks into landscapes. That is not junior.
The problem here is the usual one: middle management already framed the challenged in a wrong way, so that the project will not be successful. Which then in the eyes of management requires again more management. BecAusE tHeRe iS No IT taLENt. Lolz.

@stefano as I have mentioned to you before, I had the good fortune of getting stationed at Aviano Air Base for three years, when I was in the military. Those three years were the best years of military service.
I spent that time traveling all over the Friuli-Venezia Giulia, and the Veneto provinces. The food was great, but the people were even better.
I was never homesick while I was there.

@rl_dane and, for all my ranting about AI in a lot of contexts, I find Github's Dependabot really helpful, and Copilot code reviews sometimes are helpful (it makes stupid suggestions about half the time, but it also catches bugs, including security bugs, pretty regularly). So, I'm hesitant to fully switch to something else, but it also feels bad having Github being so dominant.

@rl_dane for my Open Source stuff, probably. But, about 30% of my repos are private. I'm considering self-hosting a Forgejo or Gitea instance as a sort of mirror of my Github in the short-term. That'd be more expensive than the $4 Github plan, but certainly less than Gitlab.
