I think it'd be a powerful move if you deleted your X account (a platform that has become a vector of misinformation and a cesspool of hate).
By the way, your homepage states: "Follow us on" followed by the icons of Facebook, X and LinkedIn. I always found it odd, since those are algorithm-based U.S. companies and you are the EUROPEAN Commission. How about putting your Mastodon icon on your homepage?

@muminitaly @_elena @EUCommission one thing we can do is to keep hammering the point with them. As some have already pointed out, we're not asking them to abandon their profiles on those platforms. For now, at least, just add a mastodon link to the list of "follow us" options. Maybe even as the number 1 link.

I could understand if they kept the account just to keep the handle from being misused.
But simply not using it anymore.This is the reason I still have an account, assuming they haven’t removed it already after years not logging in.

I deleted my 3 Twitter (X sigh) accounts last year (they'd been inactive since fElon took over) and within 1-2 weeks all my usernames were grabbed... thankfully one violated the terms and has been permanently banned... I don't dare look at my personal one that I had for 14 years

@_elena @EUCommission this post got (when writing this) 865 stars and 694 boosts, which is very nice. I'd also like us to give the commission credit for posting on Mastodon. 👍
If we want to help them further we can provide feedback and ask for this change at the bottom of their page where it says "give us more feedback". If they get ~1000 comments about removing X and adding Mastodon to the footer, I'm sure it'll help the web team get the greenlight to do it. #LeaveX

@_elena @EUCommission I never understood why there are algorithms in social media at all. Why don’t I simply see the posts of people I follow in a chronological order. That makes the perfect social media tool

@igorcali il mio consiglio è di tenere e OS se non ti da difficoltà, hai già un sistema de-googlizzato di default, e con MicroG. Le prestazioni sono di tutto rispetto.
Io lo userò su alcuni vecchi cellulari, mentre su quello di riserva che uso in viaggio ho voluto mettere lineage+app google, perché avendo un canale YouTube le app che ho trovato su eOS non funzionavano benissimo per i miei scopi, ma solo per quello!

Hai ragione, Lineage non ti da MicroG di default e ti pone subito di fronte a una scelta: installare le app di Google (e allora diventa un android qualunque) oppure no. In questo caso potrebbe servire MicroG che va aggiunto, e ogni app che si appoggia ai servizi google potrebbe fare problemi, anche se potresti usare ovviamente le app open Source. Insomma, in quel caso ogni scelta va calibrata e tentata, dipende da caso a caso. 👇🏻
