in terms of tidiness, how ready is your home generally to receive unexpected visitors?
@eniko@mastodon.gamedev.place i could get it presentatable in a few hours, but depending on how it goes one or two rooms might become designated dumping zones and remain off limits

@eniko Hosting a tabletop game every two weeks has done wonders for keeping my house presentable. 😅
@RamsHornStudios @eniko Yeah we have been regularly hosting friends for dinners and craft nights and it's definitely made a difference. These days someone could nearly always pop round for a visit with no notice.

@eniko
There are "visible" rooms, and there are "fun" rooms. -

@eniko can get it presentable in a couple hours if they don't need to visit my cav.. i mean, office.

in terms of tidiness, how ready is your home generally to receive unexpected visitors?
@eniko it's a shitty chaotic mess, but I don't really give a crap so if someone wanted to visit that's fine... so I voted that it is always ready.

@eniko Here in South Korea, culturally, people drop by without giving much notice. So you have to keep it presentable whether you want to or not. 😅

@eniko
My home is literally falling apart. Guests are not permitted. -
in terms of tidiness, how ready is your home generally to receive unexpected visitors?
@eniko its generally acceptable, but i usually spent 15min collecting dirty laundry / dishes and emptying bins beforehand
-
in terms of tidiness, how ready is your home generally to receive unexpected visitors?
@eniko other - my house reflects my mental state so, if I'm depressed it's not ready ever
-
in terms of tidiness, how ready is your home generally to receive unexpected visitors?
@eniko like, I could get it cleaned up nice in an hour, but anyone who'd care if I didn't isn't worth having as a visitor.

@eniko I voted how I voted, but advent of pandemic means Not A Single One save for paths cleared for service techs unbothered by anything because they've seen far worse. All others relegated to front porch no matter what they may think~
-
in terms of tidiness, how ready is your home generally to receive unexpected visitors?
@eniko Used to be "presentable in a couple (or more) hours" in the Before Times
Now.... it very much is not... -
in terms of tidiness, how ready is your home generally to receive unexpected visitors?

-
in terms of tidiness, how ready is your home generally to receive unexpected visitors?
@eniko
define unexpected visitors... A few people do know the chaos we live in, so it's more of a matter of those needing utilities access or something where I need to clear or rearrange things for access, like moving boxes out of the bedroom to access the utility hatch for water -
in terms of tidiness, how ready is your home generally to receive unexpected visitors?
@eniko it's not at all ready, but I decided a long time ago that anyone visiting can just deal with it. I've got too much going on to make my house a pretend level of neatness

It depends on who you ask in the household.
On most days, it's not terrible, and could be ready for most of our friends or family in about 20-40 minutes.
For anyone else though, it would be closer to 2 or 3 hours.
