Hello Fediveres,
I am a 44-year-old software developer who is fed up with meaningless, purely profit-focused work, vibe AI slop, and a Big Brother antisocial networks, that snoops on data at every turn.
This is the first time I've addressed the Fediverse in this way. I'm looking for a new challenge, true to the motto: #MeaningfulPurposeFirst. Do you have any ideas? Can you help me #boost the word in this great Fediverse?

#FediHire@sobfly Would it help to add some specifics e.g. geographic area i.e. where to work (US, EU,...), type of software you've worked on, what you find especially purposeful, etc?

#FediHire@sobfly I'm literally in the same boat (44 as well :D). Not much to contribute but will eagerly follow what comes out if that. I've been looking at orgs that focus on (digital) accessibility, and if you want to branch out, 'service design' can be a meaningful avenue to explore.

My local post office is somehow the worst one. No outdoor dropbox, they removed the drive up one by the road years ago, and they lock the lobby and the gate to the parking lot outside of business hours. Never seen anything like it. Every other place I've lived I could walk or bike over and drop off mail, check the PO box, etc. in the middle of the night and never have to interact with people or disrupt my schedule to make it there during the quite short open hours.

Ho letto questo articolo su OpenClaw condiviso da @informapirata che mi lascia molto perplesso. È vago, estremamente di parte e si concentra solo sulle paure di Washington. Ma onestamente, visto il disastro che stanno combinando, dovremmo smettere di prendere per buono tutto quello che esce da quel cesso biondo della Casa Bianca.
È ora di pensare con la nostra testa.La vera rivoluzione qui è tecnica, non politica. Siamo passati dai chatbot agli "Agenti Autonomi": l'AI ora non parla solo, agisce, scrive codice e gestisce server. Il rischio vero, credo, è che questi sistemi sbaglino o vengano ingannati, facendo danni reali in un secondo.
Sull'open-source poi l'articolo prende una strada strana: la trasparenza non è una minaccia, è l'unica vera difesa. Se il codice è aperto, i ricercatori possono ispezionarlo e trovare le falle. Meglio avere tutto sotto gli occhi che temere chi l'ha prodotto.

Da me al lavoro mi hanno vietato di comprare Lenovo per una serie di ragioni assurde, ultima delle quali "e poi è cinese".
Mentre usava un DELL (marca usa che ovviamente come tutti usa tutti componenti dalla cina) e con un telefono (vabbè lasciamo perdere).
Personalmente
Uso Lenovo da un po' , fortunatamente con arch Linux, è mi trovo una favola.
