I wish we had this style of houses in Europe as well (besides cold ass Norway and Sweden).
Plus, more forests in southern Europe.@Gina God no. Those are generally known as "cardboard houses". Note how thin the walls are. Minimal insulation. Relatively cheap and fast to build though.
Northern Europe has real log (beam) houses, which are nothing like that cardboard house, although you think they look similar?
Plenty here in Lithuania waiting for someone to restore them. And some forest still standing here and there
One modern, cost-effective alternative are wood framed, straw bale filled houses, which offer good insulation.
