It seems to be going very well.

This is exactly what fedi was built for and what can make fedi stronger: an independent instance created and run for a specific community, pulling people in.

If you're as confused as I initially was: The Forkiverse is a fedi instance set up by hosts of two podcasts (Search Engine and Hard Fork), the name references the latter:

@rysiek looking at https://theforkiverse.com/nodeinfo/2.0 its sorta a crazy ratio, as there are so far 6098 local posts from a total of 4169 user accounts so that means most of the signups haven't lead to a single post yet

@liaizon @rysiek is this just a "forkiverse Georg" fact? because when i do the maths, 6098 ÷ 4169 is bigger than 1. (obviously that can be the case and "most of the signups haven't posted" can also be true).

@oblomov @liaizon @rysiek @pj So, i kinda like how charmingly naive they were to set up a moderately large instance in the fediverse without spending any field research here _at all_. But. But the cringe. Reminds me of those Septembers in the early 1990s. Still, i'm sure everything will settle down soon.
