I may have just hit my breaking point for firing Pinta as my image editor.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure what to use instead. I am on Linux and I am not using the GNU Image Manipulation Processor.
@mcc I'd recommend Paint.NET if it were
1.) Linux compatible.
2.) 2008. -

2.) 2008.@mcc That's not to say Paint.NET is good only by 2008 standards, but that you need to have been using Paint.NET since around 2008 to keep up with all the plug-ins that make it a viable editor.

Maybe I just finally go ahead with learning to use Wine after avoiding it for 27 years. And continue using my unsupported, long-discontinued copy of Affinity Photo 1? I don't necessarily *like* Affinity Photo but I have come to an understanding with it.

@mcc i got so... tired by the state of the offerings that i've just been making do with aseprite and just raising my hands in resignation and then just cropping and *very* basic filters with https://github.com/linuxmint/pix because that was the default app that cinnamon opened for me...

@mcc if your search gets really dire, I bet you could cobble together something quickly using python-pillow for some basic editing operations

@mcc@mastodon.social
have you tried the photogimp config for gimp? tunes the defaults to be so much more sensible. -
