@cwebber I had exactly that experience over the weekend. Wanted a library to extract metadata from .flac files, found one that looked like it would do the job, Claude listed as a contributor. Nope. Shelling out to metaflac will do just fine.

@cwebber I've come to the conclusion that an overambitious project description is my first warning flag to start looking for (AGENTS|CLAUDE).md and terrible code. Not just superlatives, but feature list.

quite ironically, i'm starting to appreciate the somewhat honesty (based on what they used really) of these people.
at the very least, you're not left to wonder whether or not you're looking at slop after seeing the author boasting about llm for another project/contribution they made. -
