I've got an IKEA lamp by my bedside and the halogen bulb just died after 20yrs or so. I'm prob due for a new lamp, but decided to replace the bulb.
An LED replacement for the little G4 bulb works great and is 2W instead of 20W. It now runs cool rather than being a burn hazard, so am winning there.
Of course a little plastic adjuster handle then broke off. Just my luck. 🙁
Oh well, I epoxied that back on, though i don't really need it, as it was to avoid finger burns.
Reuse recycle repair etc

In this case my value equation says buying local and not storing nine bulbs pointlessly for decades is worth a few bucks to me.

@ottaross Nice. We needed a standing lamp for our dining room and were looking around used stores for one but I think most had been bought up by a local TV production. We eventually found one but it was halogen and I was happy to see it was pretty easy to just wire in an LED replacement. And the switch knob was missing but I actually ended up moulding a new one out of epoxy putty 😂

I spent some hours adjusting rabbit ears while my Dad and friends watched Hockey Night in Canada. I occasionally stood there holding on to one of the antenna during a particularly exciting part of the game because it improved the reception. I was happy to contribute. -

@Girgias @jrf_nl @derickr I know someone (not me) who pointed a different agent at it and asked it to find security problems, and that agent suggested that some of the code looked like it might be attempting to poison the opcache.
Of course, I have no idea how to determine whether that’s true because the other agent could be hallucinating, but a massive PR from an unknown entity does concern me that there’s something potentially nefarious buried within.
