    Hi everyone! I have a few questions related to GOG. Achievements: Apparently they should work with Heroic through Comet. If I launch a GOG game in gaming mode as a non-steam game would it work as long as the checkbox about comet in Heroic is activated? Or do I have anything to do such as what’s decribed here https://github.com/imLinguin/comet/wiki/Usage or there https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/1bursla/gog_achievements_with_comet_now_easier_usable/ ? The explanations are a bit complex for me and contradictory. Downloads: Is there a way to download a GOG game in the background while playing a Steam game in gaming mode? I really want to support GOG and these features are important. Of course I know that the Steam Deck is subsidized by Valve and that we can’t have everything, but I hope GOG will be more Linux friendly in the future. Thanks a lot.

    what GOG is doing is great and i commend their efforts (even tho i wish they’d relax their submission policies juuust a bit), and as a store, not having piles of shovelware is great! but as a preservation platform, GOG’s approach is inherently limited. they can’t have every game, and they can’t keep supporting every game. that’s the fundamental problem with them as far as preservation is concerned. the only way i can think of where we could have total game preservation is if every game ever made had it’s source code readily available, and all people were taught the programming skills necessary to make the games work on whatever future computers we have. that way, even the most obscure games which don’t have a passionate fanbase can be ported, fixed and played for years to come. which, obviously, is not something that’s doable, by GOG or by anyone else

    @gamingonlinux I loved Moonstone when I was a kid. Too bad at the time I didn't speak a word of English, so neither me nor my friends had any clue what to do! 🤣
