👑 To everyone grieving a partner or soulmate this holiday season: It’s okay if the holidays hurt. That feeling is heavy, and it is real.
Grief is love with nowhere to land. That big sadness gets trapped inside your body, making your chest feel tight.
Your best tool is your breath. You do not need hours to meditate. You just need to breathe slow.
Try this simple trick:
Stop. Sit down and feel your feet on the floor.
In: Breathe in slow for 4 counts.
Out: Breathe out slow for 6 counts.
Three slow breaths tell your body: "I am safe right now." This small release helps sadness flow out, bringing calm back. Give yourself permission to pause and breathe today.
Breathe slow. FLOW.

@evan that dwarf holiday in the moralizing religion belt? I remember growing up they had TV shows about it. My observational probes have moved on, but it seems others retain an emotional attachment.

@voltagex I don't know how to do anything with `cargo` or Rust, really. I'm just using the Slint library with a C++ app (a pretty small one, at that) and it's absurdly large (the release binary isn't bad...16M or somewhat bigger with the Skia renderer if I want it to look at all decent).
But, I can do a full du and sort it:

Man, what? 7.8GB build for my little sprite editor application? And, this is _after_ I disabled some of the bigger things (switched back to FemtoVG even though it looks like absolute ass, because Skia makes it over 14G). Though I continue to fail to be able to disable debug builds of Slint for reasons I can't figure out. I assume that would cut this down a lot.
