In sad news, someone (town?) cut down the rope swing tree along Mascoma Lake. There's been erosion in that area over the years, but rather than fill it in and reinforce, they just cut the tree down and blocked it off. There have been a number of well loved rope swings that pop up around the rivers and lakes in the area and eventually they all get destroyed. This one had been holding on for as long as I can remember.
