Aurora seen in southern New Mexico at 33N latitude!
This is a slightly wide angle shot (23mm with APS-C sensor), and the red glow fills the frame. I need to shoot again with a wider lens.
[Edit/add: 2nd photo is 20 minutes later, and a slighty wider lens...17mm with APS-C sensor.]
Some thin cirrus is in the sky. Stars have slight halos because of those thin clouds.
Exposure was 30 seconds, ISO 400, f/1.4. Contrast was boosted a bit in GIMP.
