@Gargron @scott recent enough Mastodon also pops an OPEN link to the thing you just posted after posting, in the bottom left (at least if you're using the multicolumn layout). After that, you can just keep the started thread open and reply to the last post in it as you go.

“It takes two people to make you, and one people to die”Faulkner's "As I Lay Dying," set in Yoknapatawpha County, enters US public soon. Despite 15 stream-of-consciousness narrators making it challenging, Holly at Nut Free Nerd explains why it's worth reading. What does Mastodon recommend for learning Japanese? I spent over 100 days in Duolingo but got tried about talking about math tests and kind teachers. #AskMastodon #AskFedi #japan

Are there any #ornithologists ? I have a dumb question about sparrows (both house sparrow and eurasian tree sparrow).Near 3 days ago, I saw a lot of sparrows on the streets. Also a lot of them flew to my window to eat some seeds. Despite the air temperature was near 0°C.But suddenly, after one night all sparrows are disappeared from the streets — I see no one, only another species: crows, wagtails and tits.First, I thought that all sparrows are migrated somewhere. But from Wikipedia I learned that they may migrate only to nearby rural areas to eat some insects, if there are no food in the city. But (again) in my district are enough bird feeders with food.So I really have a question — where (and why) are all the sparrows flew? I live at the outskirts of city with a big count of trees and a small forest nearby, so looks like here should be good conditions for birds #ornithology #sparrow #migration #AskFedi
