@NicelyManifest Thanks! I try to pay attention to light and dark in different areas of the picture. The nice thing about buildings is I can work on individual bricks to match them as best I can to the photo reference, then look at the piece as a whole and tweak light and dark as needed.
@BenHigbie just imagine being on duty on one of these. You had to live there for the term - no going to a nice barracks when you'd clocked out. Damp, cold, would have been a very uncomfortable posting, particularly during periods of bad weather.
