This is the closest I've been to one of Australia's rarest honeyeaters. This magnificent bird is a Regent Honeyeater, and is critically endangered. There were a good half dozen captive birds in the aviary attached to the Taronga Zoo animal hospital. These are likely part of the captive breeding program to try to rescue the species. I have previously been extraordinarily lucky and seen some in the wild. #bird #captive #TarongaWesternPlainsZoo #AustralianWildlife #RegentHoneyeater

A study in Eastern Yellow Robins (or in this case an individual robin). Caught up with a friend today and we went for a casual shoot out at the base of the Blue Mountains.
