New @Vivaldi release on mobile. Finally we have 2 level tab stacks on iOS and we are putting significant efforts into desktop mode on Android. I am very excited about that. The idea that you can just connect your phone to a dock with keyboard, screen and mouse and have a fully working computer is great! Not just a mirror, but a full desktop environment. This has been around for a while on Samsung phones through DEX, but is now coming to Android in general and we see this as an interesting challenge to bring a true desktop experience to this environment. My 15 yr old Win7 laptop needs replacing. I think I need to move to Linux, to avoid the Windows11 subscription, AI features and telemetry nonsense.The new PC will also needs to r/w discs, or have a box to RW discs, as I have CDs and DVDs that I still want to use.Should I get a refurbished laptop / mini PC / normal PC, with Win10 and install Linux? Maybe we need to update #RTFM. Actual manuals are rare beasts these days. You’re more likely to find the information you need online, whether it’s in the form of PDF datasheets, forum posts or Git gists.It should really be RTFAI, in which the AI isn’t what you think but stands for ‘Available Information’.
