This is a Cooper's Hawk, found almost throughout North America. It was a request from a visitor to my art booth at one of the markets where I set up my tent to be a vendor.
I like taking suggestions from patrons. It's not a commission, with a monetary exchange. It's a wish instead, an idea from one person to another in the hope that it can be shared not only with them but with others who might like the piece's subject as well.
It's my way of connecting, of creating a reciprocal exchange between me as the artist and my community where I live and belong. It makes me feel like I'm adding to the culture's unique voice.

I do everything by hand on my iPad Pro, using an app called Procreate. I don't use any sort of generative nonsense at any point in my process--not in reference imagery, not in the making, and not in modification. My work is done in a digital media, but it is entirely #HumanMade.
I print each image at home in my own studio using an ImagePROGRAF Pro-1100 giclée pigment printer, so the card is archival. With a missive written on the inside, then matted & framed behind glass and kept out of direct sunlight, it will last longer than some photographs.
