    Garofalo. Marriage at Cana, 1581.How bad would it suck to be this accomplished as a painter and still be listed half the time as "the Raphael of Ferrara," i.e., "Il Raffaello di Ferrara"? The Italian candy company is called Ferrero, but still the search engines mix it up. And his actual moniker is Garofalo, a major brand of pasta! Poor him. It's bad enough to live in the shadow of another painter but...(By the way Ferrero still uses palm oil and kills orangutans, so don't buy it!)#Painting

    The Oncoming Storm -- I love painting Kyu and the ocean. They are very closely linked in my current story WIP, so it feels natural. Kyu is an amnesiac, who washed ashore close to a port city. In order to find her place in the world and her roots, she travels a lot. But there is always a part of her that is especially drawn to the ocean, as she knows the mystery of her identity lies beyond it. In this particular piece, there's also a storm approaching from the ocean. I wanted a bit more tension and foreboding in this painting.     So, an interesting issue came up in the #Fedify repo that I've been thinking about: #629. You know how every #fediverse server uses schema:PropertyValue in actor attachment for profile metadata fields (like “Website”, “GitHub”, etc.)? Turns out, strict #AS2 validators like browser.pub reject it, because the AS2 spec says attachment should only contain Object or Link—and PropertyValue is a schema.org type, not an Activity Streams 2.0 type. The thing is, we can't just drop the type like we did with Endpoints (#576), because Mastodon and others rely on seeing "type": "PropertyValue" to render profile fields. But at the same time, it's technically not spec-compliant. I'm leaning towards writing a #FEP to formalize this existing practice rather than trying to invent a new type (like toot:PropertyValue extending Object), which would be a nightmare to migrate across the whole fediverse.
