    Sometimes I think I should retire my account. Mostly because I don't have happy go lucky content much of the time. We don't want to be a downer.Don't get me wrong. We do have a good life. An abundance of love and one of the sweetest dogs in the universe.It's just that our activities don't vary extensively, we spend much of our time dealing with health challenges, and those obligations come before creative and more interesting pursuits. After tooting regularly for three years I might have shared everything at least once.Summer is our constant companion and though I got her out for a lengthy run on our property today it was too rainy for photos.While I'm writing Summer is teasing me with her pink bunny because she knows I can't resist and that I will take two minutes to play no matter what is on my plate. The upside is that we are hanging in there and we love you all. #Summer #DogsOfMastodon

    *Hemitomes congestum* (https://w.wiki/UH7) lacks chlorophyll because it gets its nutrients by parasitizing fungi. Very cool find on a summer's evening.     I feel like any day that we are well enough for an adventure is a sign. It is specifically a sign that wasting a sunny day when we can all be together outside would be a crime. I hope we continue choose all the choices that leave no future regrets. So we saddled up and headed for the site of the former Centerville Naval base. Now a tangle of walking trails and stunning views.We could mosey along at our easy pace and share Summer's joy at being outside.This group of photos were snapped along the way.#Summer #DogsOfMastodon

    Perfect day on the north coast of California.Breezy but warm and sunny. I couldn't deny Summer a beach adventure. Just an hour out of our chore time to make the quick drive to the shore.     Today is catch up day.Summer and I have already filled the free pantry, started the laundry and cooked breakfast.Later, I will meet my new woke hair stylist. I told her not to worry. I will be happy with the haircut, really. It's just hair and it will grow back. I know my hair is hard to cut. We will figure it out together.Yesterday, we decided to donate all of the money we would have spent on the holidays to the local food bank instead of sending gifts to out of town relatives. Summer decided it was time for some fun and ran up the stairs with her toys. She gave me her let's go play look.She is very persuasive.Good morning, Mastodon.#Summer #DogsOfMastodon

    I didn't realize that upgrading the cell phones for six people would be so complicated. It took a family meeting, a spreadsheet, and a phone call with customer service. Trying to prioritize our wants and needs against the cost and hard sell service provider tactics.We finally figured it out.I am old enough to remember when my whole family shared one phone on the wall and we all knew each other's business for better or worse.I don't tell the grandkids that, because it sounds too much like walking to school up hill both ways.Sometimes, I wonder how I ever got so dependent on a device that shares my personal information with goodness knows who.It must be progress, right?Summer says she prefers her in person communication style.#Summer #DogsOfMastodon

    Here I go again posting the mundane happenings of our simple lives. I saw a toot yesterday where a person was bemoaning how boring it is to read about plain old everyday stuff on Mastodon.No razzle dazzle on this timeline just Summer and I as we scurry down the road for another early morning adventure. I told Summer how lucky we are to live our not very exciting lives in this beautiful place.Maybe in the grand scheme of things all that excitement we don't experience goes to critters who are more deserving.Who knows for sure why we ended up here and everyone else there?I asked Summer what she thinks.She says that personally she is happy to accept that she is where she is meant to be.I said me too.Good morning, Mastodon.#Summer #DogsOfMastodon

    Summer is amazing. She was all cozied up to her pal.All of the sudden she wiggled out and hopped up on my lap. I'm rarely her first choice for a cuddle so I was surprised.As soon as she leaned in to me and put her head on my cheek I felt the beginning of the most extreme panic attack I have ever experienced. She stayed close and quiet until I felt better. She knows things. I don't know how she knows but she does.The power of Summer's love has been the gift of a lifetime. I am thankful.Maybe I should spend an hour in Hyrule where the bad guys are easier to vanquish and the good guys will win in the end.Summer says heck yes. She loves to watch.#Summer #DogsOfMastodon
