One popular Russian military channel "DONTSTOPWAR" (270k+) ironically commented: The reservoir serves as the main source of domestic and drinking water for Kharkiv. Friends, do not hold a grudge against us. I know that there are many decent people in Kharkiv who are waiting for our return, and I can understand your anger. Your temporary authorities must understand that the humanitarian catastrophe in the form of a shortage of drinking water in Donbas is their responsibility. They do know they're hitting civilian targets in order to cause a humanitarian disaster, and they openly boast their goal is purely genocidal, and they systematically pursue that genocidal goal all in open. P.S. the author is also alluding to the fact that the attack might have been a revenge for lack of water in Donetsk - but the complex waterway that supplied Donbas with water was... also destroyed by Russian shelling already in 2022, not by Ukraine. In 2023 Russian forces also blew up the Nova Kakhovka dam on Dnipro, cutting off the water supply to #Crimea which they occupy themselves.
