The Mechanically Perfect Lie
A loud noise outside my window brings back a memory from 2002. The night I truly could have died.

@stefano Close one. Glad you made! It had rear traction, right? A bugger to regain control if traction gets lost.
It's a bit like a certain subtle sound I'll never forget. A very large wood construction- and timber market center right before my window of my childrens bedroom completely went up into flames in the middle of the dead night when I was young.
Much later, when my wife and me were living together one night I woke up by that subtle sound again and knew right away something big lit up. It was the bikeshed of our neigbours. We were able to call the FD and alerted the neighbours, who were still asleep at that point, to get out.🤷♀️

@Tionisla wow, what a story! Yes, rear traction. I was used to that kind of traction, so I knew how to manage it. But that car's suspensions were totally depleted.

@stefano damn, seems car dealers all over the world are after all car dealers :-)

Post processed. I'm glad your vehicle was from the build like a tank period. That's why you are still with us
Old Mercedes Benz is of massive quality in comparison with new

This really hit me. Sadly, the same kind of hidden-defect car culture exists here in Brazil too. I’m glad you made it out.

@r1w1s1 Thank you.
While I could suspect something about it, this has been one of the reasons why I don't trust used cars, unless I know where they come from. A car can kill people. If you mess up to sell an insecure car at a higher price, you're a criminal. -
