Not just these infuriatingly shitty bots, but ESPECIALLY the forced typing bubble in between answers. YOU'RE A BOT. WHAT IS THERE TO TYPE. Unless you're hosted on my 10 year old raspberry pi, you should be well capable of answering ✨️immediately✨️

@Gina I think the worst part about that is not the (stupid) effect; but the fact some humans in fragile state of mind can start empathize with bots actually start believing they are having a real conversation. There is absolutely no reason to try and make a chatbot look like a human, yet they are still doing it.
And it (literally) kills people. I will never understand how they can keep up with that crap.

@welshpixie @andycarolan the parents’ group chat at my little one’s nursery school is on WhatsApp. Nobody is on Signal.
I deleted my WA account almost 6 years ago and wouldn’t want to associate my real number to it… or give it access to my address book.
So I got a second pre-paid SIM card and have WhatsApp on a GrapheneOS phone in a sandboxed user profile.
The things you gotta do these days to minimize predatory data harvesting by Meta… 😒
