@mcc proper winter. Finally. We haven’t had such snows here in Poland for last… 5 years? I’m only sorry it was late for Christmas Eve.

@mcc Winter of ’92 — yes, I’ve somehow turned into the old man™ who does “back in my day” stories from the previous century — we got 140 cm of snow in 1 day here in Sackville, NB. That remains my benchmark, and it remains unmatched. The ice storm of 1998, though, did damage that can still be seen if you know what to look for.

@mcc We were waiting for you to get your citizenship before hitting you with the full Canadian experience.

@tantramar @mcc That storm was wild.
We were able to climb up onto the roof of the garage with the drifted snow as our only ladder. Jumped from the peak into the fresh 5ft of undrifted snow below.
We spraypainted “Happy Maritime Winter" on the ~7ft walls where the plows/blowers cut a path for the streets.
(In Moncton, but close enough to Sackville.)
