Annoying thing: I purchased some lace-edged zippers from eBay, 23cm long. (Good for using to make #crochet bags).
They have just arrived. They are 35cm long!
THAT IS THE WRONG SIZE.Grrrrr.
I have demanded a refund, or the correct zips. With accompanying photograph.
I expect that I will have to make my demand three more times before they actually comply. -

@silhelm Cut? And thus render the zip useless because it no longer has an end-stopper? No.

@kerravonsen I just sew across it on the machine, or if not machine sewing, handstitch it closed and stoppered at the right point (just the thread going in a circle round and round the zip). They also sell the small metal clamps that hold it shut for exactly this situation, but I've never bothered with that.

@silhelm @kerravonsen +1 on just sewing across the end of the zipper to keep it closed, while looking at the one metal clamp you're bought to try and saying “naaa, next time“ (it's what one has to do with zippers that are sold by the meter)
it doesn't work with zippers that can open completely like those for jackets, of course
