I think it is time to start planning* a pre-winter-#Interrail. Sicily again? Next week? Prices for a Milano–Palermo "vagone letto relax uso singolo - cabina intera" are still reasonable, on some days.
*) When I say "planning", I mean "buying tickets, where necessary, on short notice". That's the kind of planning I love.

@phillmv this sounds great! I'm glad you had such a good time. And, yes, Montreal is uphill both ways in winter; everything is really hard. But it does making getting to where you're going, like a bar or a friend's house, feel like finding a haven. And everyone there is a fellow adventurer.

i got there for 8:30am and left at 5:30pm. i had dinner with my partner and kids, and then i went back for another 90min.
