my first year here i was a TA in a first year art class and we did a field trip to a place downtown and were supposed to meet there. and i got up in the morning and there was a -50 something windchill. and it wasn't cancelled
@forestine Ahh Winnipeg where it gets cold enough to cancel buses but not classes.
Growing up in Georgia I didn't realize air could be so CRYSTAL CLEAR as it is when it's -30 or below. Or that it could be too cold to snow.

@shockwaver @forestine my photophobia gets way worse as it gets colder and sunnier. just immense discomfort, sometimes migraines, at the sharpness of the light.

@theynege @forestine oh god, mine too. It's brutal - the low angle + the brilliant white of the snow + absolutely nothing blocking any of the light?? Migraine central.
I have to try and balance standing with my face in the sun so as to not go completely insane with my eyes screaming no god why

@aeva Well if we disregard any speed constraints, I guess any x86 or ARM based PC made in the past 2 decades should have the capability to compile. You might regret having to sit around for 20 minutes to load a hello world though.
