To people living in Japan:
What system do use to phone family in Britain?I use FaceTime to talk to my Mum but she’s in a Care Home and can get confused if there are technical hitches. If I needed to call Care staff in an emergency I’d have to use Docomo’s mobile or landline services which works out at over a pound a minute. Docomo used to have special deal on up to two dedicated international numbers but that system stopped some time ago.
Any advice or recommendations welcome.

A crucial point for people who still Hold Out against Covid:
If your employer wants to be an asshole about Covid (they do), point them at these guidelines. Let them think about how they'd explain to a Court that they don't think they need these and don't want their employee to follow them.
Get their HR dep't to think about it. Maybe ask their fucking lawyer.
Because there's no way. No way. NO way that any employer in Canada would like to see this gone over in the presence of a judge.

qui erano anni che non si vedeva un bel gelo d'inverno, l'anno scorso ai primi di gennaio c'erano le gemme... 🫤
Del 1985 mi ricordo che avevo un paio di scarponcini che mi piacevano tantissimo e mio papà mi portava in giro per i boschi con la neve e abbiamo trovato la sorgente di un torrente gelato che faceva le cascate di ghiaccio giù da un dirupo.

@wollman @dan @ricci in my house the antennas didn't really work. you could go into the one closet that had a big dowel rod connected to the antenna in the attic and spin it around, but it didn't help. you could put tin foil on the rabbit ears and that didn't help either. we finally got cable like a year or two before I moved out in 1990.
