please be an annoying european
you're "annoying" to only a certain sort of american asshole, and if you aggrevate them, that's a plus in my book
@benroyce @BashStKid @alice @lispi314 Agreed. The only āannoyingā part is that Iām jealous š - because , here in the US, peopleās well-being isnāt important to the government - and a large part of the population votes to keep it that way.

@Wyatt_H_Knott @alice @benroyce Travel for work is for work, it should be part of work hours and paid.

I always get shots done separate days. That way if I have a negative reaction, I know which Jab done me dirty.
@w_b I figure I'm going to collect them all like PokƩmon anyway, so might as well catch 'em all as soon as they're available.

@benroyce @CppGuy @alice When
I was 15 there was a huge meningitis epidemic. People were dying. So everyone got vaxxed. I went with a schoolfriend of mine and her mom. My friend was afraid of needles and I was too. I was, though, more afraid of dying.
I went first and got it, it was fine.
My friend, though, a 15 year old teen, made this RIDICULOUS scene, cried, screamed, the drama lasted one hour (1/2)@renata I wish I'd had the meningitis vaccine. I got meningitis just before my 23rd birthday, by my birthday a couple days later I was hooked up to machines in the ER. It took a month to return to work (I should've stayed out for two, but bills were piling up), and it took years to relearn my vocabulary.

I use the pharmacy at the grocery store so it's not inconvenient since I'm there weekly.

@nobrainnopain @benroyce @alice Or for life, or getting hundreds of people sick, or killing other people.

@AnnieBuddy @renata @benroyce @CppGuy @alice I got shingles in the years before they would give me the vaccine. There is no pain like it.
I made them give me the vaccine the first day they'd allow it. But I had to lie and say I hadn't had shingles, because half the medical establishment in Switzerland seems vax-averse

@benroyce this /s comment encapsulates *so* much of what's wrong with toxic culture in America (and elsewhere)āfolx convinced that keeping others from gaining privileges and closing equality gaps is worth more than protecting their own rights.

@benroyce @renata @LukefromDC @CppGuy @alice why not both?
now I'm pretty certain I'm having Brussels sprouts and a baked potato for dinner tonight!
@paneerakbari that sounds like a good dinner.

@alice not only in the US of A, in my country (Portugal, EU) around 30% of people vote that way (I worry that the % of people that think like that is even higher, but they don't lift their butts from the sofa on voting days, I'm all against not voting, but for those not voting I make an exception and am thankful).

@alice I got mine before the move to AZ because I wasn't sure they'd even be available here.
Gladly there's pockets of actual humans here in this "red" state. (I think it's turning blue from what I hear. Well, it's more blue now with me here rofl)
