Mozilla's survey about the future of Mozilla and AI is terribly biased towards AI.

@chillybot I think that's rather honest of them. They have no intention of backing off from AI. They'll ride that bomb all the way to the ground.
It's incredible how obtuse they are about their own user base, and what motivates someone to choose Firefox to begin with. Anyone who likes this crap is already perfectly happy using Chrome or Edge.

@DaveMWilburn @chillybot I have been following this for some time, and I think the answer is clearly that they don't think of Firefox as anything more than legacy debt, despite their language. Their investments are in AI because that's where donor money is. The user base is not the revenue source. Their corporations that chase VC are.

Mozilla's survey about the future of Mozilla and AI is terribly biased towards AI. Make your voices heard. Tell Mozilla to be stewards of privacy and the open web, to not use AI and to stop violating the trust of the users
@chillybot Thanks. I responded asking them to oppose the genocidal and ecocidal military-industrial complex and invest in a community-led internet

Fantastic read as always! I am still giggling over "Blavidia" xD -
The questions are basically "how do you want AI to be used" without providing a real option to say "none of the above I don't want AI to exist in Firefox"
@chillybot "Holding corporations accountable for their AI products" is really the only good option to that question which doesn't admit much twisting. It's what I'd recommend selecting.

@chillybot
There is a narrative answer box if you skip to the bottom where you can just tell them: WOW! Award winning biased survey and also do not want AI polluting tech tooks I use and if you try to force AI on people no worries, someone will fill the void you leave while you die on the vine with the other douchebags. -

@mttaggart@infosec.exchange @chillybot@infosec.exchange @DaveMWilburn@infosec.exchange the thing is, this is their replacement for the revenue they lost due to the google antitrust lawsuit.
instead of a search/ad engine paying them, AI Companies will do so now. -

@chillybot action taken.
I don't think I used the word "motherfuckers" enough, though.

@chillybot@infosec.exchange @DaveMWilburn@infosec.exchange @mttaggart@infosec.exchange it didn’t but it did result in a loss of funding due to the scrutiny.
as such Mozilla has been looking at other sources of income and the AI industry is throwing it around right now. -

Hope they read the server logs & see my survey was submitted using @Vivaldi 🤭🤫 -
I mean there are freetext inputs so you can and should say that, it's just not multiple choice options.
@chillybot And then they ask for a donation.

@chillybot I absolutely made the most of those “Other” and free text fields to put Mozilla on blast RE: #AI

Thanks for this!
About the line "So of these organizations, 3 of them need to have flagship AI products by 2028."
It looks to me like that might be accidentally smushing together 2 different aims,
"All Mozilla orgs have a flagship AI product by 2028"
and
"3 Mozilla orgs have more than $25M in revenue (currently: 1)"Or am I wrong?

@unchartedworlds MZLA is excluded from the requirement, I believe

@chillybot My answers to the survey were basically "Want my data for your AI? Fuck you, pay me."

I can't in honesty fill in such an absolutely broken survey!
It's got missing important questions.They have totally lost the plot.
