Trying to install Ubuntu on a VM and it's taking FOREVER.
I guess there was some outage yesterday on archive.ubuntu.com. Which would explain my failed attempts from yesterday. Supposedly resolved, though seems knock-on effects continue today.

@jcphoenix I was just trying to do some updates on a couple of my boxes. Took nearly 30 minutes to download 11mb of the 500+MB linux-firmware package before I killed it.
Funny the status page says everything is good, but the Discourse page says otherwise. Seems like one would have a note on the status page, or health checks to observe the "backlog/queues" and report that status.

@j_angliss @jcphoenix does Ubuntu not have mirrors?
@Neblib @jcphoenix it does, but based on the fact that the source of the mirrors was the broken item, and now all the downstream mirrors are syncing, is causing load and availability problems. At least, that's how I'm reading the post on the site anyway.
I don't know how the mirror setup works for ubuntu, but to me, seems weird that incorrect sync causing the mirrors to break seems like a bad setup. I thought mirrors used to just be rsync replicas, guess not now?
