Have any artists within my fedisphere produced zines to showcase their own artwork?

@jsstaedtler Also, this is a great place to start for mini-zine templates: https://www.mirkwork.com/free-zines-to-download
@nickthewright Thank you! I love that one-page template—I'd seen the end result before, but this time I'm saving the directions for my forgetful future self!

@jsstaedtler In the Ancient Times I put together a zine which was essentially a short story arc from the comic.
Pretty sure I printed it out for free on a work printer or copy machine, then assembled and stapled it together. I had to figure out how to print the pages to align properly, but hopefully there are templates for that now.
@nickthewright @jsstaedtler
Wow! Seeing this post made me remember my own zine that I collaborated on with a friend back in 2002. -

Have any artists within my fedisphere produced zines to showcase their own artwork? I'd like to see examples and perhaps be inspired to produce something of my own. Physical or digital (though I suppose you'd have to photograph the former)
I would also be happy to see anyone's art books, seeing as I want to produce one of those too... and I suppose they're on the same spectrum!
@jsstaedtler I made a couple zines that might fit what you’re looking for.
Spaced Out includes collages I made by hand and brief text to go with each collage. https://mythicaltype.com/2024/12/28/spaced-out-zine.html
Work in Progress is a zine about how I make zines. It includes original drawings and collages. https://mythicaltype.com/2023/10/29/zine-work-in.html

@jsstaedtler @JenJen recently launched a monster zine and @Hika makes art zines too

@kalikambo Those are great, thank you! I'm noting that, if I produce my own, I'll have to look for trading opportunities!

@nickthewright@tenforward.social @jsstaedtler@mastodon.art Did you have to cut the pages to that size? I've been trying to decide if I should get a long arm stapler or cut down my pages to this size.. I haven't been able to find a template though..

@Hika @nickthewright It looks like 5.5x8.5 pages, stapled in the middle? So you can either print double-sided on 8.5x11 and cut it in half, or else single-sided and fold it over... if there are no existing templates available, I could probably just figure it out and make them

@Hika @nickthewright ...like this basically, for single-sided printing (folded in half) or double-sided (cut in half)

@jsstaedtler @Hika That seems very close to what I had (but I had a cover and a back). And yeah, I just used standard 8.5" x 11" sheets. Dividing them down the middle "hamburger style" makes for two decent sized comic pages. Once the arrangement is set, you just need 3 staples in the middle.

@nickthewright @jsstaedtler @Hika one of the advantages of using A paper sizes is that they fold in their smaller counterparts (a folded A4, which is the closest to your 8.5x11, is an A5). A nice feature for booklets.
