@BabaLooey From a constitutional perspective, Gore should have won. Not because he won in Florida (though he likely did), but because Florida failed to turn in its vote on time, and should have been thrown out entirely. Florida shit the bed, and oh well, if YOU fail to show up and vote on time, YOU don't get to vote, either. There's no constitutionally valid reason that Florida should have been able to hold the entire country hostage. SCOTUS flubbed that. Maybe deliberately. We might never know.

@ymasumac you know, for years and years I've been so mad at people publishing Anne Frank's diary and making her into some sort of symbol. But this is HERE AND NOW, and people need to see this. For his sake and for all the others to whom these atrocities are being done, and for the future of all our babies.

My father Francesco ("Chino") was born in 1922 in Italy.
In 1940 the fascist government sent him a letter requiring him to enroll in the military for WW2. He didn't and hid.
A fascists' squad went to his home and took his younger brother Togno (10) until my father turned himself in.
They sent him to a correctional camp. He fled and became a partisan leader against fascism.
