Quale software per la mia istanza personale?
Ciao amici, ho un problema amletico: quale software usare per una istanza personale (familiare) di 2 utenti?
Sembra facile, ma non lo è, perché:
ho a disposizione un server su cui girano anche altre cose che non posso spostare.
RAM libera 846 MB, 2 Core. (più ovviamente un file di swap)
Sembra un'impresa disperata che porta a un'unica soluzione: GotoSocial. Il problem è che, poi, non saprei bene come usarlo da PC (se non ho capito male, non ha un'interfaccia.Qualcuno saprebbe darmi qualche dritta su GoToSocial? Funziona bene? E' davvero così poco esoso di risorse?

GoToSocial funziona bene, in termini di risorse è molto poco esoso ma richiede comunque un database (SQlite o postgres).
Non ha un'interfaccia web che puoi usare da pc, bisogna ricorrere ad alternative e mi pare che l'unica al momento mantenuta e aggiornata sia Phanpy.
Una possibile alternativa a GTS è Snac che è ancora più leggero e ha una sua interfaccia web e non usa database.

Ho provato elk questa mattina, per poliverso.org (l'istanza da cui scrivo).
Mi piace molto ma non riesco a comporre post. La funzione c'è, ma mi porta a una pagina bianca con cui non è possibile interagire.

Elk ha un problema che secondo me è abbastanza grosso: se lo vuoi installare te lo fanno scaricare direttamente come pacchetto per docker. Ora, ok, vabbeh, uno si arrangia credo, scarica i sorgenti e compila, ma per principio preferisco venga specificata una scelta, fosse anche due righe che dicono "teh, se non vuoi docker questi sono i sorgenti, git clone, make, make install"

At the time, the site itself was much less informative about who was behind the initiative, but even at the time it smelled fishy, and I suspected that the main point was actually to help AI rather than humans. This thread confirms it, so I guess it's time to update my write-up at the time with a link to this thread.

I'm #StillInBrussels. I had planned to take an extra day for our first in-person meeting of the Social Web Working Group, but that fell through. Which is good, because I have a tonne of homework to do for Network Science. Tomorrow I'm free and I'm going to Antwerp for a day trip, then off to London for #ProtocolsForPublishers.
