#introduction Hello fedi! Used a "lurking" account for about a year now, decided to start over properly. #Risk, #compliance, #security, #privacy guy by day, #foss, #cats, #pizza, #grunge by night. #Polish #European So far, I found this place to be what a healthy community should look like - inclusive, diverse, and passionate. Just a bunch of wonderful humans exchanging knowledge, thoughts, and views, without the toxicity, tribalism, or algorithms.Let's see what troubles we get into! ❤️

Found my first computer this week. Nascom 1 (1978 ish) built into a wind up gramaphone case, swappable roms (tiny basic and a monitor IIRC) space for a Phillips EL3302 cassette player (that i also have some where) also found my software on tape. Really need to archive those :) Z80 at 4Mhz , 2KB onboard 1KB video, 1K user. 4K expansion (8x 2114's) #RetroComputing #z80 #nascom

Any #retroComputing nerds out there interested in a HP 510 Notebook PC c.2003?Runs Windows XP. 512MB RAM, 64GB HDD. Still boots, just reformatted it today. Battery is goosed but power cable comes with it and it runs fine on mains AC.It's free to anyone who wants it and is willing to pay the postage.

Quick reminder on the likely reason why Valve's New Steam Machine only supports #HDMI 2.0:""At this time an open source HDMI 2.1 implementation is not possible without running afoul of the HDMI Forum requirements.""This is what Alex Deucher, the maintainer of the amdgpu #kernel driver, said one and a half years ago here:https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues/1417#note_2303163And from the ticket it looks like the problem remains.See also Alex's earlier comment from early 2021 in the ticket:https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues/1417#note_830547""HDMI 2.1 is not available on #Linux due to the HDMI Forum.""#LinuxKernel #Valve #SteamMachine
