Adblockers are one of the few reasons I've stuck with Firefox as long as I have.

Some recent updates fixed, then broke, then removed the widget.gtk.non-native-titlebar-buttons.enabled setting which enabled themed OS window buttons on Linux.

If they get rid of adblockers, I'm switching to Vivaldi.

the new @mozilla CEO obviously has zero understanding of their users or the original mozilla mission. forcing users to take ads, forcing AI (that no users have been clamouring for) shows a real gap.

pity they didn't get someone who actually values open source and the mozilla history. just another sales critter hoping for the "glamor" of CEO title, i guess.

@pjf @jbz Thanks for the suggestion even though I knew this. You did understand that point of my post was that it's ironic that the article blocks regular view due to ad block use, yes?

I'll go even further and say that adding yet another "you can just do X" to circumvent the latest add to the enshittification death by 10,000 cuts is a exhausting waste of time.

@jbz Combined with his background (no open source/privacy advocacy experience) and his extremely rapid rise to CEO, this looks like Mozilla’s board brought in someone to “fix the business” who sees users’ expectations as obstacles to revenue rather than as the foundation of Mozilla’s value proposition.

I’d be looking for a Firefox alternative too.​
